Aidy White rips into Daniel Farke despite Leeds winning 3-0 vs Wolves: ‘Not right now’
Aidy White appeared to lose patience with Leeds United despite beating Wolves 3-0 at Elland Road on Saturday.
A quickfire double from James Justin and Noah Okafor inside the opening 20 minutes put Daniel Farke‘s team in control but when the game was there for the taking, Leeds coasted.
Wolves look destined to go down but had it not been for a very slight offside call, Adam Armstrong would have set up a nervy finish.
However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin brought up his 11th Premier League goal of the season when he won and then duly converted his penalty in second-half stoppage time to secure all three points.
Leeds are now nine points clear of the relegation zone but ex-player White could not contain his disappointment over the Yorkshire side’s game management.

Leeds win in uninspiring fashion
To outsiders looking in, a 3-0 win over Wolves should be the be-all and end-all. But for long periods of the contest, Leeds were, according to White, “vulnerable”.
Leeds had the chance to rip Wolves apart after their rapid brace, but it seemed they were content to maintain their two-goal cushion.

| Expected Goals: 2.78 | 0.54 |

Leeds fans breathed a huge sigh of relief in the second half when Armstrong’s goal was ruled out for the tightest of offsides.
And their nerves turned to celebration when Calvert-Lewin converted his penalty kick to earn Leeds’ first back-to-back wins in the league this season, following their famous triumph at Manchester United on Monday.
But after starting like a house on fire, as the raucous home crowd sensed blood, White was disappointed with their lack of urgency for long periods.
He said on BBC Radio Leeds, “Don’t just play for the sake of it. I’m all for game management but not right now. Go for it, put your foot on the gas, get the game won.”
White later asked, “How many wake up calls” do Leeds need? But in the end, Leeds got the win.
Next up, Leeds travel to in-form Bournemouth before looking forward to an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea next Sunday.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin up and running again
Calvert-Lewin went on a remarkable six-game scoring run earlier this season, as the former Everton man bagged seven goals in that stretch.
But since scoring in a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest in early February, Calvert-Lewin had failed to add to his 10-goal tally for six league games on the spin.
However, his spotkick in Leeds victory against Wolves will have done his confidence no harm at all in what was a typically battling display.

| Aerial duels won | 5/8 |

Leeds are so much more effective when the England international is playing well but if he can add goals to his game, he becomes an even more difficult opponent to handle.
And if he has a strong end to the season, Calvert-Lewin could yet make England’s World Cup squad. So there is plenty to play for.
