Noah Okafor injury setback will leave Leeds United boss Daniel Farke pulling his hair out

Noah Okafor’s injury setback will have Daniel Farke pulling his hair out at Leeds United.

Okafor was called up by Switzerland boss Murat Yakin for the friendlies with Germany and Norway, but he did not feature against the 2014 World Cup winners.

It has now been revealed that was due to injury and his participation in the clash against Erling Haaland and Co is in doubt.

A report from Neue Zurcher Zeitung on 31 March claimed that the Whites ace was questionable for the clash after injuring himself in the warm-up.

Leeds will be dreading the worst, especially after his recent injury layoff at Elland Road.

Why Daniel Farke will be so concerned by Okafor latest

Okafor only returned to the Leeds team for the 0-0 draw with Brentford last time out, so it will be a huge setback if he is injured once again.

He missed a month of football with a hamstring injury, which did not help the Peacocks in their fight against relegation.

If his absence, the LS11 side drew with Aston Villa, lost to Manchester City and Sunderland and drew with Crystal Palace, and beat Norwich in the FA Cup.

Why Leeds need Okafor to be fit in the run-in

Leeds’ status in the top-flight is nowhere near secure, they are just four points above the relegation zone with seven matches to play, so still in a very precarious position.

Okafor has notched four goals in his debut Premier League season, and his pace and directness cause issues for the opposition on a regular basis, even when he is not scoring.

The Whites are a much more dynamic side when he is in the team, and they need him to be fully fit in the run-in.

Farke will be concerned after the latest update on his fitness; he desperately needs the Swiss forward to be on the pitch in the last few weeks of the season.

He is a potential difference maker, and the Peacocks do not have too many of them as they try to remain in the division, rather than being relegated to the Championship, and having to start their journey all over again.
