Leeds United’s Anton Stach ‘hope’ does not define their season amid Daniel Farke injury update
Leeds United are hopeful that Anton Stach’s injury will not be too serious after his withdrawal against West Ham, but Daniel Farke has revealed it looks like ligament damage.
The Whites rejoiced as they edged past West Ham on penalties at the London Stadium on Sunday to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup and a trip to Wembley.
Stach had to be taken off just minutes after Ao Tanaka’s opening goal against the Hammers, after the former was taken out while bearing down on goal.
The German did manage to get his shot off, but West Ham centre-back Max Kilman caught the Whites star on the follow through of his attempted block.
Leeds now have an anxious wait with Stach, but the truth is, Premier League survival does not hinge on one man.

What has Daniel Farke said about Leeds injuries?
Jermaine Beckford was furious at the decision on Stach and Leeds’ penalty appeal, which he thought was a straight spot kick.
Stach almost made it 2-0 in the contest with his strike, but the most important thing was his health at that moment, as his substitution was needed.

As seen in the table above, Stach has arguably been Leeds’ best player in the Premier League, and fans will be worried heading into a crucial stage of the season.
However, Leeds’ midfield partnership of Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu was spot on against West Ham, Stach’s replacement of Brenden Aaronson showed that not all hope is lost yet, even if his injury is serious.
While speaking to the press after the game, Farke revealed information on Stach, who was seen wearing a protective boot, as well as updates on Joe Rodon and Noah Okafor, who also left the field early with niggles.
Farke said, as quoted by Beren Cross on X: “Okafor seems to be okay. Cramps after being out for a while. Rodon rolled his ankle, hope not too bad. Anton rolled an ankle, probably a ligament injury. We have to assess, hope not too bad.”
Sean Longstaff was on the bench for the Whites at the London Stadium, and is also someone who can be relied on in the fight to avoid relegation.
It’s not ideal, but it’s not the end of the world at the same time.
Ankle ligament injury is one of two drastic fates for Stach; here’s why
As Farke said, it’s a roll of the ankle, which seemed to get caught between Kilman. The protective boot will be precautionary, as most sides now do their utmost to remove risks of player injury.
However, ankles swell up more than most other parts of the body, and a scan may possibly be needed, as ligament damage can either be a minor strain or much worse.
With that said, the 27-year-old could be back in action within two weeks for the Whites, but the other end of the scale could see him miss the rest of the season.
