Leeds United: Jermaine Beckford furiously reacts to Anton Stach injury vs West Ham – ‘He’s busted’

Ex-Leeds United star Jermaine Beckford thought Anton Stach should have been served justice following a tackle by West Ham star Max Kilman this Sunday.

The Whites were already up 1-0 in the first half of the Quarter-final FA Cup clash against the Hammers at the London Stadium, before Stach ran through on goal.

The German fired his effort straight at Alphonse Areola, but Kilman caught him while trying to block his shot.

Daniel Farke was most likely furious about Craig Pawson and VAR’s decision not to award the Whites a penalty and keep Kilman on the pitch.

Stach could now face a lengthy spell out through injury, and Beckford paints the bigger picture for Leeds’ season in the Premier League.

Jermaine Beckford suggests Leeds should have had penalty for Anton Stach incident

Stach has been a revelation for Leeds since joining in the summer, and is in the running for the player of the season.

After being called up to Germany’s national team, Farke and Leeds supporters will have been praying that the midfielder came back unscathed.

Stach did return fit, but now fans will anxiously await updates from Farke after the match.

While speaking on TNT Sports at halftime, Joe Cole and Beckford provided their thoughts on the incident.

Cole said: “I think he [Pawson] got it wrong, I’m happy he got it wrong.”

Beckford replied: “He definitely got it wrong, he definitely got it wrong. Anton Stach; his leg is busted now, which could be a key moment in Leeds United’s season.”

The former Whites star didn’t sound too happy while sharing his verdict, either.

Thankfully, Ao Tanaka looks to have had a big boost, which could be a lift for Leeds’ midfield, if Stach’s injury is serious.

Sean Longstaff could be set for Leeds revival

Stach has been arguably Leeds’ biggest creator from midfield, and his presence will be missed.

If the 27-year-old is out for a period of time, Farke may have to turn his attention to Sean Longstaff once more.

The former Newcastle United man was on the bench against West Ham, but one less midfielder to choose from will make the need for the Englishman greater.

Longstaff has been dropped to the bench for the majority of this second half of the season, and with good reason.

Time will tell, but it could be a scary proposition for Leeds, who will be keeping their fingers crossed with Stach.
