Bournemouth vs Leeds United injury latest as Anton Stach one of three definitely out

Bournemouth host Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium, where at least three players will miss out through injury.

The Cherries have been on an impressive run of form that keeps them in the running for a European spot in the Premier League.

Leeds have also been on a good run that includes back-to-back victories over Manchester United and Wolves, lifting them eight points clear of the relegation zone.

There is plenty on the line on the South Coast on Wednesday night, then, as Bournemouth look to stay in European contention and Leeds can effectively confirm survival with time to spare.

Daniel James and Anton Stach nursing injuries for Leeds

Daniel Farke confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday that Daniel James and Anton Stach remain Leeds’ only injury absentees.

James is back training, having not played since the international break three weeks ago, meaning a return to action is seemingly close.

Stach is also close to a first-team return, with Farke stating he is days, rather than weeks, away from his comeback.

And that is that in terms of Leeds’ confirmed absentees, although that is not to say there are not one or two issues Farke wanted to keep secret at his presser.

As for Bournemouth, they are definitely without Justin Kluivert due to a knee injury that has ruled the forward out for close to four months now.

Andoni Iraola could welcome back Lewis Cook from a thigh problem, while Julio Soler is a doubt but is not definitely out.

Farke may well be tempted to heavily rotate his Leeds starting lineup against Bournemouth, with next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea in mind.

Thanks to the recent wins in the league, that showdown at Wembley undoubtedly takes priority over the next four days.

However, Premier League survival is also massive and Leeds are not quite over the line yet, even if it seems extremely unlikely they will be caught even without winning another game.

Farke will want to keep the momentum going if nothing else, and Leeds could make it nine away games without defeat in all competitions.

Not since January 1979 have they enjoyed such a run, which is testament to the incredible work Farke continues to do at Elland Road.
