Anton Stach: Leeds midfielder reveals extent of West Ham injury in ‘stop acting’ Instagram post
Anton Stach has shared an Instagram post of the injury he picked up in Leeds United‘s FA Cup win over West Ham, and it’s clear the midfielder has a nasty ankle problem.
The 27-year-old received lengthy treatment after being in evident distress following a shot at goal that West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola saved.
It was Hammers defender Max Kilman who followed through with his challenge on the Leeds star, and the incident was briefly checked by VAR for a potential penalty, but nothing was given.
Stach was unable to continue, and was replaced on 38 minutes by Brenden Aaronson, leaving Whites supporters with an anxious wait to learn news of Stach’s situation.
That update has now come from the player himself, and unfortunately, it appears Stach has sustained a significant ankle injury.

What did Anton Stach post to Instagram about West Ham injury?
Stach should’ve won Leeds a penalty, with Kilman clearly wiping out the German after the shot was made in one of those moments where you say, ‘if that was on the halfway line, it’s a foul’.
Thankfully, that wasn’t a non-decision that would come to haunt Leeds, as Daniel Farke‘s side fought back after a crazy West Ham turnaround to win on penalties.
| Leeds stats vs West Ham | Result |
| Possession | 44% |
| Expected goals (xG) | 3.09 |
| Shots (on target) | 21 (8) |
| Goalkeeper saves | 4 |
| Passes | 490 |
However, it would be a moment in the game that would cost Leeds and Stach dearly, as evidenced by the midfielder himself.
Posting to his Instagram stories in the hours after Easter Sunday’s game, Stach snapped a picture of his foot, which clearly shows a significant amount of swelling on his ankle.

He would caption the image with: “stop acting…”, as naturally, he did receive some boos and whistles from West Ham supporters who believed he was milking it after receiving treatment for a number of minutes.
What has Daniel Farke said about Stach injury?
Evidently, Stach has suffered a nasty injury in the FA Cup win, and with so little time remaining in the season, his availability for the rest of the campaign could be at risk.
That would obviously be a huge blow to not only Leeds’ chances of winning the FA Cup, but also in their fight against relegation in the Premier League.
Speaking via LeedsLive post-match, Farke was clearly frustrated that his side weren’t awarded a penalty for the challenge on Stach, and also offered an update on his status.
“Anton, should have been awarded with a penalty. Ligament injury. Will have to see. He is a key player for us,” he said.
