Anton Stach injury opens door for Sean Longstaff to showcase Leeds United error
Anton Stach is likely to be out for a while after he was injured in Leeds United‘s FA Cup victory over West Ham.
To make the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time in 39 years is a huge achievement for Leeds, but the win didn’t come without a cost.
Stach was withdrawn with an injury fairly early into the game, after he was wiped out by Max Kilman after taking a shot on goal.
To no one’s surprise, given the standard of officiating this season, Leeds were robbed of yet another penalty, with the German feeling the effects of the challenge.
Stach revealed the extent of his injury via Instagram, and his expected absence could present a huge chance for Sean Longstaff.

Sean Longstaff can make Daniel Farke look like a fool
In the first half of the campaign, Longstaff looked to be one of Leeds’ best signings with his consistent performances in the heart of the pitch.
But when the former Newcastle man suffered an injury, he was forced to step aside from the starting 11, and it has remained that way ever since.
| Premier League | Longstaff |
| Appearances | 17 |
| Goals/assists | 3 |
| Chances created | 22 |
| Duels won | 63 |
| Tackles | 37 |
That is despite the fact that Longstaff ranks in the top 7.2 per cent of Premier League midfielders for chances created per 90, as well as leading the way for crosses per game with 2.28.
On top of that, with 3.52 tackles per game, he also ranks in the top 7.2 per cent of midfielders, showcasing his impact at both ends of the pitch.

He’s been excellent whenever he has stepped onto the pitch, but for whatever reason, Daniel Farke has severely restricted the level of access he has had to minutes ever since his injury.
With Stach now injured, Longstaff is surely next in line to replace him, and he can demonstrate why Farke has been a fool to keep him on the bench.
Stach wasn’t the only injury concern for Leeds
With survival still the ultimate goal, Farke will be hoping that those who suffered injuries against West Ham will not be out for long.
For Stach, that looks unlikely, but there is hope that neither Noah Okafor nor Joe Rodon will miss much football, if any at all.
Rodon was withdrawn with an ankle injury not long after the break, with Farke hopeful he will be fit for the clash with Man United, while the German also insisted that Okafor was suffering from cramp as opposed to an injury.
