Who is new Leeds board member Andreas Dracopoulos?
Leeds fans will be wondering who their new board member is, and that is a very good question as there is not much public information about him.
Dracopoulos was born in Athens and graduated from Athens College, he then gained a degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Philadelphia.
| Person | Role |
| Paraag Marathe | Chairman |
| Andrew Schwartzberg | Vice-chairman |
| Peter Lowy | Director |
| Eugene Schneur | Director |
| Robbie Evans | Managing director |
| Andreas Dracopoulos | Director |
He is currently the Co-Chairman of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), an international philanthropic organisation that has helped 3,100 global nonprofits.
He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Athens’ departments of medicine and nursing in July 2024, to add to his honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from John’s Hopkins University in 2023 and his honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Simon Fraser University in 2021.
His connection with Leeds
Dracopoulos is a lifelong supporter of the Peacocks and gained a membership 50 years ago, according to the release from the club, which should be positive for the fanbase.

He should be able to connect with them and bring any issues that they have to the highest level and get them sorted.
He will join Paraag Marathe, Andrew Schwartzberg, Peter Lowy, Eugene Schneur and Robbie Evans on the board of directors, and hopefully bring some kind of fan representation.
Dracopoulos has a relationship with the 49ers already
He is understood to have a previous relationship with the 49ers group and specifically Paraag Marathe, which should work out well for the Whites.
If the duo get on well already, then there should not be much friction behind the scenes for the Whites.
Hopefully, things will run smoothly with the Greek in the boardroom, given that he is already comfortable with the Leeds chiefs.
It could be the start of a bright new era for the LS11 club.
