Paraag Marathe has claimed that Leeds United are being watched even closer after their promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites have been involved in plenty of so-called scandals in recent years, with the latest being the Twitter spat with Karen Carney.

The vice-chairman admitted that he didn't want to speak directly about that, but did say that there has to be a recognition from the club regarding how they come across.

Speaking to the Telegraph, relayed by Leeds Live, Marathe claimed that there are plenty of people watching the Whites closely online.

"I don’t want to comment directly on that," he said.

"I will say there is a certain level when you’re in the Premier League when you’re in the top level of sport, there are a lot more eyeballs on you.

"Everything you do, the way you conduct yourselves on and off the pitch, there has to be just recognition of all the eyeballs, especially given the lightning rod status of this club."

Thankfully, this has been left well in the past.

Carney's comments weren't the best, and Leeds were also in the wrong for sharing it to their thousands of followers making it a free-for-all, so to speak.

Marathe has brought plenty of experience to Elland Road from running the San Francisco 49ers, with the NFL one of the biggest sporting franchises in the world.

His work both in the club and online will certainly benefit the Whites and his advice to keep certain things on the down-low, including future potential scandals that may be brewing.

Outsiders don't need much to criticise the Whites, so let's try to keep that from happening.
