Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk appears to be weeks away from returning to action, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he received an injection for his adductor injury which Daniel Farke mentioned could be platelet-rich plasma ones.

The centre-back has been ruled out of action since December and does not appear close to returning to full first-team training.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Struijk: "He had received an injection for his adductor injury which is normal in the case of some setbacks.

"The injection that the manager is referring to may be platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy which can help restart the healing cycle, particularly in more troublesome areas.

"This sounds like an injury that wasn’t so extreme as it was just not healing appropriately which can be the case sometimes.

"He does look weeks away from returning, however."

Struijk's injury a worry for Leeds United

The centre-back has been out longer than expected and that's not something that will sit well with Farke.

Struijk was the first choice and in his absence, Ethan Ampadu has stepped up into central defence and has done an exceptional job.

It remains to be seen once the Dutchman returns from injury if he's on the bench for Ampadu is moved back into midfield.
