Leeds United defender Isaac Schmidt is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes until the end of 2024, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that due to his sports hernia surgery [Nancy Froston], it is a significant runaway before he returns to 100 per cent fitness.

While he may have come on in the dying stages of the Middlesbrough clash on 10 December, he has played only 11 minutes this season for Daniel Farke's side.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Schmidt: "It sounds like he had a surgery for a sports hernia.

"He did return to first team football recently but it’s a significant runway for him before he could be considered at 100 per cent.

"I doubt he will play the full 90 minutes in December as the club will look to ramp up minutes methodically."

Isaac Schmidt has had a tough time adapting to life at Leeds United

It goes without saying that the 24-year-old has had a tough start to life at Elland Road.

When he joined for a fee that could end up being £4.6million [Blick], including bonuses, the expectations were that he would be a first-team regular and hopefully make the starting berth his own.

However, fitness issues have significantly limited his minutes on the field of play.
