Dominic Calvert-Lewin's wife shares unexpected injury update ahead of Leeds clash vs Sunderland
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could potentially be available as Leeds United face Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday.
Daniel Farke shared uncertainty around the striker's fitness ahead of the Whites' trip to the Stadium of Light on 25 October.
There are question marks around the England international's availability against the Black Cats after a foot injury.
However, Calvert-Lewin's situation may not be as bleak as some thought and he could feature against Sunderland.
The 29-year-old has been the West Yorkshire outfit's main goalscorer since joining on a free transfer.
Lukas Nmecha has been a worthy deputy in the number nine position, but the Peacocks play at their best with the English centre-forward up top.
Sandra Calvert-Lewin responds to troll after Leeds United injury news
Calvert-Lewin bruised his foot late on against Manchester United after being fouled.
Farke had doubts about the striker being fully fit in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
Speaking to the media, the German manager said, "Calvert-Lewin had a foul late on and is struggling with a bruise on his foot, so a question mark there."
Talkleeds relayed this news on Instagram, with one user commenting, "A foot bruise… what a wet wipe."
Sandra Calvert-Lewin replied: "Good one mate, just seen him clear the garden fence [so] looks ready to me."
There's no official suggestion that Calvert-Lewin will be fit to face Sunderland, but his wife's comment is certainly encouraging.
How disappointing player could finally get chance to prove himself under Daniel Farke
Farke also revealed that Noah Okafor and Anton Stach's situation will need to be monitored ahead of the game.
If the two can't make the starting lineup against Sunderland, Harry Wilson will certainly get a rare start.
The former Fulham star has struggled to replicate the form he showed last season at Elland Road so far.
There's growing concern among the fanbase in LS11 about whether Wilson can reach the heights he showed at Craven Cottage with the Whites.
If Farke is forced to make changes, the winger will surely have an opportunity to finally make a mark at the West Yorkshire outfit.
