Daniel Farke shares Leeds team news latest vs Brighton as key man out for two months

Daniel Farke has provided a team news update ahead of Leeds United's trip to Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

The Whites travel south to the Amex Stadium looking to build on a positive start that has seen them beat Crystal Palace and draw with Brentford.

While the display against Brentford was below par for a lot of the game, Farke's men - helped by a switch in formation at half-time - rescued a point.

Leeds have made two new signings since that most recent game, with Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya arriving on deadline day.

Brighton enter the game on the back of a win and a draw so far in the league, having also advanced to the Europa Conference League proper.

Farke spoke to reporters at Thorp Arch on Thursday lunchtime ahead of that showdown with Fabian Hurzeler's men.

Are Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya available vs Brighton?

Farke spoke about his happiness at getting deals over the line for both players ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline.

And the German has now confirmed both men are available for selection on the South Coast.

However, in some bad news coming out of the Brentford game, Farke confirmed Joe Rodon is out eight-to-10 weeks with the "serious hamstring injury" he suffered.

That means Rodon will not return until at least the start of November, which also rules him out of some key Wales fixtures.

What about Leeds' other injury issues?

Gabriel Gudmundsson made the bench against Brentford and may now be considered for a start against Brighton.

Ilia Gruev has been absent of late, but he has returned to training and may also be involved in some capacity this weekend.

Farke certainly has options to choose from - albeit he no doubt would have liked even more in some areas, particularly up top.

Still, losing Rodon for a couple of months is a big blow for Leeds and you have to wonder if the Whites would have signed another centre-back had they known the full extent a few days ago.
