Daniel Farke shares Ilia Gruev injury update ahead of Leeds United vs Crystal Palace
Daniel Farke has delivered a team news update ahead of Leeds United's game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Whites host the Eagles at Elland Road in search of another big three points, with a three-week international break looming.
Farke's side have started the season in fine form, as their only defeat came in a manic Carabao Cup clash against Chelsea.
Leeds thrashed Newcastle 4-1 last time out, and are set to face off against a Palace side who have only picked up three points in four Premier League games so far.
Though the Eagles have injury issues, the Whites have their own, as Joe Rodon and Ilia Gruev continue to progress from their respective problems.
Farke has now delivered the latest on the injury front ahead of Leeds' game against Crystal Palace.
Daniel Farke delivers big Leeds injury update
Rodon suffered a hamstring injury during the Whites' 1-1 draw with Brentford at the end of August, and has already missed three games since.
Gruev has been fighting to gain fitness after suffering a meniscus injury last campaign, and returned to action for the U21s.
The Bulgaria international played 84 minutes in Leeds' U21s 4-4 draw against Middlesbrough in the Premier League 2, and even picked up an assist.
The midfielder has played 86 times for the Whites, and is still regarded as a useful Premier League option.
Farke has been speaking to the media ahead of the game against Palace and offered an injury update on Gruev.
The German head coach said, via Leeds' official YouTube account: "He played nearly 90 minutes [against Middlesbrough], and it was good for his body and his confidence.
"He's available for this weekend. Sadly, Harry Wilson's out for this game, [with a] quad injury; he reported some problems after last game.
"He will probably miss the Wales games. Definitely not good news for him."
Rodon is still unavailable for the game, too.
Why Crystal Palace latest will worry Leeds
The Eagles won their only Premier League game of the season in an away game against Fulham.
They know how to get it done on the road and have received perhaps their biggest boost yet ahead of the game.
Pierre Sage's men thrashed Lech Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday, but Ismaila Sarr made his first appearance of the season for the Eagles.
The Senegal international reportedly pushed to leave Selhurst Park before the deadline, but now appears to be back in contention to start.
Sarr has not scored against Leeds in three appearances against the Whites, but his lightning-quick pace and shooting ability could be Farke's kryptonite.
Leeds will need to be cautious and not overcommit men forward, with Sarr's running and Adam Wharton's passing a clear threat to break them down.
