Despite the takeover of Leeds United yet to be confirmed, President of 49ers Enterprises Paraag Marathe is quietly confident in their progress, according to Leeds Live.

The outlet revealed that communications between the club and the EFL are back and forth, but that Marathe is content with the required documentation and the club are expected to meet this morning (3 July) regarding the takeover announcement.

This news comes as Leeds players return for their first day of pre-season which will be undertaken without a manager, but Daniel Farke is expected to be announced.

Leeds will have their eyes on immediate promotion back to the Premier League but will need to start making signings soon amid a wave of reported player departures including Brendan Aaronson and Jack Harrison.

However, this reported confidence from Marathe could go a long way to reassuring Leeds fans that this standstill could quickly end and progress can finally start at Elland Road.

The hierarchy’s meeting this morning also suggests that the announcement of the takeover could finally be imminent, meaning the club could finally move forward with new signings and announce Farke.

Fans will be hoping that football’s current worst-kept secret will finally be revealed so they can get on track to a good Championship campaign.
