Leeds United takeover news: 49ers Enterprises update emerges as Andrea Radrizzani deal faces month delay – L’Equipe
Andrea Radrizzani is expected to cede control of Leeds United to 49ers Enterprises “soon” despite his Sampdoria takeover not likely to be finalised before the end of the June, according to L’Equipe.
The Whites chairman struck a deal to buy the relegated Italian side on Tuesday night (30 May), but it is reportedly still to be agreed by Samp’s creditors.
It could therefore be as much as a month before Radrizzani’s move gets over the line there to take control, but the reverse deal to give it away at Elland Road is still apparently on the cards.

He released a statement on Wednesday (31 May) finally addressing the Leeds United relegation in which he didn’t mention the 49ers.
Expecation
Radrizzani’s statement left more questions than answers, and coming three days after the club were hit by a major change of circumstances in relegation won’t have put many fans’ minds at ease.
Although Sky Sports reported Tuesday on talks late in the final week of the season in the US over a replacement deal to sell to the 49ers the outward appearance currently certainly is of a man more occupied by the Sampdoria developments.
If that is to be his focus going forward then fine, but Radrizzani can’t leave Leeds United hanging without answers at virtually every level.

The hope was that a breakthrough on the Sampdoria takeover would finally lead to some sort of resolution at Elland Road, but aside from the statement which didn’t tell anyone anything they couldn’t already work out for themselves there is yet to be any advance.
The timeframe of “soon” quoted by L’Equipe could mean anything from days to weeks, and a plan for the summer isn’t coming soon enough right now.
Based on recent evidence it wouldn’t be a shock if Radrizzani was more focused on convincing Sampdoria’s creditors to accept his buy-out then he is agreeing a sale of his Whites shares, but for now it appears both clubs remain caught between two places.
In other Leeds United news, two senior players are thought likely to stay at the club ready for a promotion push in the Championship.
