Leeds United sources shares 49ers takeover update from Elland Road

Leeds United sources are expecting a firm proposal from the 49ers Enterprises within the next fortnight to takeover, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [30 May, pg 66] that the Whites are now valued at £150million, compared to the £420million in the Premier League.

With Leeds now set for the Championship, there was some doubt over a 49ers takeover, but that appears to have been put to bed with these early summer updates.

Ian Ladyman and David Coverdale wrote: “Had Leeds stayed up, a deal was in place for majority shareholder Radrizzani to sell his 56% stake to 49ers Enterprises, who own 44%.

“The club was valued at around £420m. Now, however, the NFL franchise only think the Whites are worth £150m.

“Club sources expect a firm proposal from the Americans within a fortnight.”

Get it done.

In an ideal world, this needs to be done before June 14.

That is when the transfer window officially opens in England, and with a new manager also likely needed and preferably in place for that date too, a lot of work needs to be done.

The 49ers need to get a deal over the line to take full control and start weeding out the deadwood in the boardroom that has put us in this position – starting with Andrea Radrizzani, Angus Kinnear and then Sam Allardyce.

Big Sam was in a losing battle having only four games to save us, but he more than proved that his tactics and team selection were simply awful.

Leeds need a young and upcoming manager, who can match the ambition of our potential new American owners of getting us back to the Premier League in a new style.

Everyone has been attached to Marcelo Bielsa and what he did for far too long now and a clean break is needed, with a completely fresh start.

Change is coming.
