Leeds United have been slapped with a fine of £20k after their players surrounded the referee during the 3-2 defeat against Chelsea on December 11.

The Whites conceded a late penalty due to Mateusz Klich's challenge on Antonio Rudiger, which saw some of their players react in a negative fashion.

The penalty stood and Jorginho converted it to give the Blues a 3-2 win by scoring in the dying stages of the game.

Via their official Twitter account, an FA Spokesperson made the announcement.

Baffling

It's ridiculous how nitpicky the FA is in terms of who they chose to fine and who they don't.

That penalty decision could have a cascading effect on Leeds' season and the players had valid grounds for protest.

This has been seen so many times in the past with a number of players protesting after a decision has gone against them.

Leeds United

To issue a fine for such a thing, is quite ridiculous and had it been against a smaller team, they probably would not have made a noise.

However, the fact that Chelsea are deemed as one of the prestigious clubs in the land, suddenly it's become such a major issue.

The amount is not going to pinch the club's pockets one bit, but this just sets an uncomfortable precedent and one we don't think should be there in the game.

Hopefully, the FA do not impose such fines on just one team and if they want to, then both teams must be punished equally.
