Leeds United set for ‘imminent’ Daniel Farke signing as manager arrives in England Monday for training – Sky Sports
Daniel Farke has arrived in England and is set sign on as the new Leeds United boss imminently, according to Sky Germany’s Marlon Irlbacher.
Phil Hay had reported earlier on Monday (3 July) that the German was out of the country over the weekend as the wait goes on for EFL ratification of the 49ers takeover, which is expected to precede his announcement as manager.
But the 46-year-old is reportedly now in Leeds and is set to be in place to lead the returning Whites squad at Thorp Arch this week.
Sky Sports Germany journalist Irlbacher reported via Twitter on Monday night: “After a verbal agreement his signing with Leeds United is imminent.
“The coach has been in Leeds since Monday and is due to lead team training this week. Farke is returning to England after his engagement at Norwich City.”
Finally
The twice-Championship winner has been expected for days now but as the wait went on it led to sudden reports of a late push to bring in Regis Le Bris.
At last it looks like Leeds United are set to put the successor to Sam Allardyce in place, with the fanbase desperate for him to do better than the series of bosses since Marcelo Bielsa left.
If he is due to take training this week that either means the club are expecting an EFL announcement imminently as well or they have dispensed with their plan to wait for the green light from the league.

Farke seems like the sensible choice to lead a promotion push after his exploits at Carrow Road, and while this delay looks like anything but the perfect circumstances for him to come in it will have to be better late than never.
He is expected to bring with him his trusted three-man backroom staff, and this may also mean a move to appoint his ex-Norwich colleague Stuart Webber as sporting director is somewhere down the line.
But for now the key move is finally imminent, meaning the vital work on the training ground can commence and the transfer business can start in earnest.
In other Leeds United news, a big-money first-team player is about to leave as Fabrizio Romano reports his deal is in the final stages.
