Leeds United have asked about the availability of Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite, according to Sport.

The Spanish outlet claim on their website that the La Liga giants would be open to a loan switch in January, but they would prefer to sell the Dane permanently.

It is suggested that Premier League rivals West Ham and West Brom are both also interested in a move for the 29-year-old.

How much would it cost?

Last year, Barcelona were hopefully of recouping the £16.1million they spent on Braithwaite, but that appears to have changed.

It is reported that Ronald Koeman and company would now allow the striker to leave the Nou Camp for £13.4million.

That is still a hefty fee given the current COVID-19 pandemic, something that Sport suggest would be an "affordable" fee for all three English clubs.

Braithwaite has admitted that he may need to leave in order to play enough minutes to feature for Denmark in the European Championships next year.

Given the few minutes of football that Braithwaite has had this season, any move, especially for that fee seems highly unlikely.

The 29-year-old has only completed 64 minutes in La Liga, and in four separate games, he has failed to even attempt a single shot on goal according to WyScout.

This would even be a tough task for Marcelo Bielsa to make sure he produces the goods, given that he failed to do so for Middlesbrough.

Patrick Bamford has little in competition in the final third at Elland Road, so it would be no surprise if the Whites targeted another striker, but maybe not this one.
