Leeds United in quadruple sacking as Jesse March leaves Elland Road for good
Leeds United have sacked manager Jesse Marsch and removed his senior coaches along with him on a day of major drama at Elland Road.
The club announced in a statement on their website Monday (6 February) that the American has been “relieved on his duties”, after the Whites lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest a day earlier.
That loss leaves the club only outside the relegation zone on goal difference and those in charge have pulled the plug on the project under Marsch.
Also on the way out with him are Cameron Toshack, Rene Maric and Pierre Barrieu so the new-look squad following the January transfer window will also have a new-looked coaching team sooner or later as well.
Making moves
The past month of spending showed that the hierarchy were not willing to sit still and hope for the best in the rapidly developing relegation battle, as they had last year.
Marsch replaced Marcelo Bielsa just under 12 months ago and ultimately was successful in keeping the club in the top flight on the final day.
But it was far too close for comfort, and so the club transfer record was broken in January as one of four incoming players.

Yet the first action after the deadline saw many of the same old issues come to the fore at the City Ground, and so the change continues in the dug out.
Marsch has spoken at length about the improvements he felt were coming about in his team, but results are the only real measuring stick those in charge care about and he has been let go.
They, and the supporters, will have to hope that whoever comes in next can succeed where the American did a year ago, and make sure Premier League status continues come May.
