Leeds United have reportedly ramped up their interest in securing the services of Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the groin issue he sustained last season ahead of a potential medical.

The 19-year-old scored just four goals in 46 appearances in all competitions last term.

Kilicsoy expected to clear pre-transfer medical

Despite the groin injury, the Turkey Under-21 international is not expected to face any issues with his medical, according to Dr Brar.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Kilicsoy: "While he did have a groin injury last season, it was relatively minor and he bounced back and played regularly after, so that’s a positive.

"I do not see him facing any issues with his medical.

"He may still need bounce minutes for the first few weeks before he’s ready to play the full 90 minutes."

Leeds United must steer clear of Kilicsoy

Signing Kilicsoy could be a misstep for Leeds United, as the Besiktas striker remains unproven at the elite level and his goal-scoring record raises concerns.

Despite his potential, he managed an underwhelming goal-return last season, which is not ideal for a Whites side needing a reliable finisher to secure promotion.

His youth and limited senior experience suggest he may struggle to adapt quickly to the Premier League's physicality and intensity.

While his 42 goals in 64 Under-19 games highlight promise, the leap to senior football has exposed inconsistencies.

The Elland Road outfit, under Daniel Farke, require immediate impact players, not a developmental prospect.

Investing heavily in Kilicsoy risks financial strain and squad imbalance and this is not a deal they should pursue.
