Leeds United: Andrea Radrizzani faces ‘legal duels’ amid Sampdoria takeover development
A series of “legal duels” could ensue for Andrea Radrizzani as the Leeds United owner looks to complete his takeover of Sampdoria, according to Calcio Mercato.
According to ESPN journalist Leonardo Bertozzi on Twitter on 27 May, Radrizzani is closing in on a deal to takeover the Serie A club.
However, Calcio Mercato (Sunday 28 May) report that a “head-on collision” could well be on the cards if Gestio Capital’s proposal falls short of what is needed to purchase the club. This comes after a press release was leaked claiming the club had officially been sold.

It’s a race against time for Radrizzani and Gestio Capital, with the players’ wages needing to be paid by Wednesday 31 May to avoid a points deduction next season.
Remarkable
Radrizzani does face a race against time to get the deal over the line, but the timing of this takeover can be questioned. The Leeds chief has to be focussing on proceedings at Elland Road. There’s so much uncertainty with the 49ers’ takeover and what that could mean for the club moving forward.
We need clarity over the summer months. The Italian is clearly trying to mastermind an escape route out of West Yorkshire whilst still maintaining some sort of status within European football.

The Sampdoria takeover does make sense. They will be playing in Serie B next season and could well be a long-term investment.
He will pick up the club for a minimal amount and then look to sell it on for more if they can return to the top tier of Italian football relatively quickly.
This takeover appears to be rumbling on. From Leeds’ perspective, they will be hoping their owner starts to focus on the decisions which need to be made at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, David Prutton offered his assessment on the “ultimate slap in the face” to the club’s fans.
