Leeds United have spent £2million on transforming the Elland Road pitch over the summer for the new Premier League season.

Phil Hay has shared the news after the old surface was temporarily changed midway through last season.

There has been a new drainage system installed underneath, which should make sure the surface doesn't end up as bad as it did last season.

Speaking on the Phil Hay Show, the reliable insider shared the major change that has been made over the summer.

"The first thing you'll notice is a beautiful, beautiful new pitch," he said.

"It might not look so different to what you saw in the second half of last season, but it has been a complete reconstruction as was originally supposed to happen last summer.

"It has happened this summer for about a £2million investment, it's not cheap."

Finally.

This was needed to be done, and we can't wait to see it for the first time on Saturday as we welcome Everton to town.

Marcelo Bielsa kept a brave face last season, but he would surely have been fuming deep inside as his style of play was hindered.

We went from the torn-up pitch to the temporary surface which was more like an ice-rink, and now we finally have something to call home.

Elland Road is being transformed into a Premier League stadium once again, and it's time to take the division by storm again, this time with fans behind us.
