Leeds United fans were disappointed when Michael Cuisance narrowly missed out on an £18m move to Leeds United over the summer.

However, following the dramatic collapse of his switch to Leeds – when he failed a medical – Cuisance moved on loan to Marseille where he's had a really poor first half of the season.

Get French Football News tweeted about him over the weekend saying, "Michaël Cuisance’s (21) consistently subpar performances have been one of the more perplexing trends of Ligue 1 2020/21 - seems a complete shadow of the player that showed such great flashes in the Bundesliga back in summer."

They went on to say, "Cuisance has regularly been positioned as a #10 by André Villas Boas but the player lacks the invention to unlock Ligue 1 defences & is also missing the physicality to hold his own against the division’s robust defensive midfielders."

Marseille have lost their last three games and are stuck in sixth in Ligue 1.

Cuisance has had four Ligue 1 games in the last nine with ratings in the 5s from WhoScored and his highest of the season is a 6.6. His season average is 6.3.

Given this, there are plenty of Leeds fans who now think they "dodged an absolute bullet".

Another pondered whether he had an underlying injury – Cuisance failed his medical at Leeds, although that was disputed by Bayern Munich.

Another simply said, "Thank God we pulled out of this deal".

It's left Leeds short in midfield, with Adam Forshaw still out injured, but it does seem that Rob Price and the medical department saved us a lot of money here.
