Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts has entered contract talks with the club ahead of the European Championships.

The Welsh international has one more season on his current deal and has been linked with a move to Premier League side Newcastle [Football Insider].

Marcelo Bielsa has kept great trust in the attacker this season, often playing him ahead of club-record signing Rodrigo at Elland Road.

Speaking via Leeds Live on Monday afternoon, Roberts confirmed that he loved it in West Yorkshire, hinting he would want to stay at Elland Road.

"I think my agent has had a talk with them about what's going to happen," he said.

"I think it's one of those where the season is so close to ending, you stay focussed on the last few games and you sort that then."

Confidence.

It could be the perfect summer for Roberts.

After smashing home his first Premier League goal against Southampton, the playmaker could shine for Wales at the EUROs and then sign a new contract.

That would do him the world of good and could boost the Whites massively ahead of next season, where he would likely be an impact substitute.

Ezgjan Alioski has proven that letting your contract run down causes chaos, with no clear answer on his future yet, we can't do that again.

If Bielsa and the Whites want to extend Roberts' deal and keep him around, they have to get it sorted before next season starts and clubs start sniffing.
