Andrea Radrizzani makes official offer for Sampdoria as Leeds United exit news emerges
Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzni has made an official offer for Italian club Sampdoria but part of the bid includes finances that are “insufficient”, according to Il Secolo.
The same outlet previously reported [17 May] that Radrizzani was preparing to leave Elland Road in the summer and readying a £78million offer to buy Sampdoria.
The 48-year-old has been linked with a departure from West Yorkshire in the near future with the 49ers Enterprises planning to trigger their full buyout option of the club before the beginning of next season.
Il Secolo have now reported that an offer from Radrizzani, who is working with fellow businessman Matteo Manfredi, has arrived at Corte Lambruschini, and it is “in line” with the requirements set out by creditors.
The one stumbling block in the takeover is that the Italian businessman has “insufficient” finances to deal with the more imminent expenses of the club, with a bank capable of guaranteeing bridging finances required.
New beginnings
There were some reports that hinted that Radrizzani would be staying at Leeds United if the club were relegated to the Championship due to the likely decrease in value, however this suggests otherwise.
The Whites are in desperately in need of a new takeover that can take the club into a new era and help them turn over a new leaf, regardless of what league they are playing in next season.
Supporters have made these feelings clear all year long, with Victor Orta and Javi Gracia the latest figures to feel the brunt of the pressure and be sent packing from Elland Road.
The 49ers will probably be itching and ready to take the reins in West Yorkshire if the club maintain their top-flight status over the next fortnight, and this latest update suggests that the Italian is very much in the process of parting ways as well.
All will likely be a lot clearer after the end of the Premier League season and a final decision is made on the takeover of the club.
