Andrea Radrizzani agrees 100% Leeds United sale to 49ers in £170m valuation, EFL receive details

Andrea Radrizzani has finally agreed a 100% sale of Leeds United to 49ers Enterprises with the details sent to the EFL for ratification on Tuesday (6 June), the Daily Mail reports.

A deal for a Premier League version of the Whites was in place for months, but negotiations have dragged on past the end of the season to find a substitute agreement after relegation to the Championship.

That point has finally been reached with terms on a full takeover which values that club at around £170million now in place and the EFL set to receive the proposal immediately.

The breakthrough reportedly came after Radrizzani’s successful purchase of Sampdoria, with further talks progressing positively on Monday (5 June).

The Premier League has reportedly already given their approval and have passed the responsibility onto the EFL.

The club has been without a manager since Sam Allardyce left at the end of last week (2 June), a sporting director since Victor Orta departed with the sacking of Javi Gracia four games from the end of the season, and many question marks within the squad after failing to beat the drop.

Finally

Everything at Elland Road has been on hold waiting for this news and valuable ground has been lost on rivals already.

Radrizzani has made himself increasingly unpopular with the fanbase since Leeds United were relegated with no answers in place, but this development should come as a major boost.

Movement should now follow on a new manager to replace Allardyce, and decisions can begin to be made on which players from the Premier League squad will be sold.

The long-mooted plans for the club held by the 49ers may have been set back by relegation, but they have reportedly never wavered in their commitment to carry out the purchase.

Now that it is finally here they can put things in place to mount a run at an immediate promotion push.

The Radrizzani era has fallen a long way since the heady days under Marcelo Bielsa just two years ago, but the next chapter in the club’s history appears to have finally arrived.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites face paying an “exceptionally large” fee with the unwanted transfer exit of a star man.
