Leeds United are likely to see departures as well as signings this summer are they prepare their squad for the Premier League.

The Peacocks’ squad needs more quality if they are to survive the drop in the 2025/26 campaign.

Unfortunately, this means that many stars from Leeds’ Championship-winning campaign will not be as prominent in the squad next season.

This is likely to result in departures, with Brenden Aaronson’s future at Elland Road now in question.

Aaronson will surely be sold by Leeds this summer amid impending Emi Buendia transfer

Rumours have recently begun to circulate that Leeds are set to sign Emi Buendia from Aston Villa

A £16.8 million fee has been touted, with the Argentine currently out of favour under Unai Emery after he spent the last half of the campaign on loan at German outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

However, with Buendia being a natural attacking midfielder, this will surely mean that Aaronson is finished at Leeds.

The United States international played an important role in the Peacocks’ promotion campaign and netted nine league goals.

Yet, despite his contributions this season, Aaronson has been linked away from Leeds throughout May.

Farke had been criticised for consistently picking Aaronson, and surely he will now cash in on the 24-year-old if Buendia joins Leeds.

Buendia is a massive upgrade on Aaronson

If Leeds can get Buendia, he would be a massive upgrade. The Argentine had been a key player at Aston Villa until he picked up an ACL injury at the start of the 2023/4 campaign.

However, the 28-year-old still helped the Birmingham outfit achieve Europe for the first time in years and become an international in 2022.

Daniel Farke’s task will be to help him rediscover his form as he looks to reunite with the attacking midfielder whom he managed in his Norwich City days.

Hopefully, the Peacocks can quickly get the transfer over the line before any other clubs swoop in.
