49ers consider all options at Leeds United with £100m+ revenue void – Kieran Maguire
Kieran Maguire has suggested that Leeds United should consider increasing the capacity of Elland Road to boost their matchday revenue.
The finance expert has been talking on The Price of Football on 18 July after the Whites confirmed the purchase of their stadium.
Leeds confirmed the purchase of Elland Road on 10 July from Andrea Radrizzani and Maguire believed this could lead to improvements.
He said “Elland Road generated the 10th highest level of matchday revenue (in England).
“You would expect Leeds to be higher than that but because it was separate from the club there has been very little investment. The new owners are considering all options. In my view, there is no reason why Leeds shouldn’t be in a 50k-55k stadium.
“There is £30m coming in from matchday revenue while Manchester United bring in £136m and that’s a big gap to fill. They won’t fill that fully but they could go a lot higher.”
Leeds United could improve Elland Road
The Whites have one of the best atmospheres in the country which makes Elland Road an iconic stadium for plenty of reasons.
It is unlikely that many supporters will want to leave the stadium given how much history there is in LS11.
With that being said, improvements would likely be welcomed by fans to have an expanded and increased revenue ground.
While Leeds are in the Championship, their revenues are sky-high compared to their opponents which is obviously a positive for the club.
If they achieve promotion to the Premier League this season, or in years to come, increasing matchday revenue will be necessary to keep up with others in the division.

Daniel Farke has an uphill task for the upcoming campaign after missing out on promotion the play-offs against Southampton.
There is no doubt that having an additional 15k plus capacity at Elland Road plus £100m in revenue would be a massive plus for the club moving forward.
