Harvey Elliott to Leeds United takes new twist after Arne Slot sack
Harvey Elliott’s potential transfer to Leeds United may be impacted by Arne Slot’s sacking at Liverpool.
The Dutchman was dismissed by the Reds on 30 May after a dismal season, which saw the Reds finish fifth and narrowly scrape a Champions League place.
Elliott was banished from the squad by the former Feyenoord boss, with a loan move to Aston Villa sanctioned last summer.
He was expected to be available for transfer this summer, but Liverpool’s situation may provide a new twist and put a spanner in the Whites’ attempts to sign him.
Elliott would add a different element to Leeds’ team, providing Daniel Farke with a new creative outlet with significant Premier League experience.

What does Slot sacking mean for Leeds and Elliott?
Leeds have been touted as a perfect destination for Elliott, but the new Anfield boss may have different plans for the attacking midfielder.
The 23-year-old was a favourite of Jurgen Klopp, and he may well be able to win over whoever replaces Slot.

| Matches | 117 |
| Goals | 10 |

If he can impress them in pre-season, that could stop a potential exit from happening, scuppering interested teams’ plans of signing him.
If the Whites’ interest is genuine, then they may have a very close eye on how the situation develops in the next few months.
Leeds’ search for an attacking midfielder has been complicated
The one element that the Peacocks have been lacking is a creative attacking midfielder.
Farke was reportedly interested in reuniting with Emi Buendia, who he managed with Norwich, but he could never prise him away from Aston Villa.
They tried to address the issue by bringing Facundo Buonanotte to Elland Road in the winter window, but he failed to have the desired impact.

He failed to score or assist in four matches for the LS11 side, and could not force his way into Farke’s side on most occassions.
They will hope that the new Reds manager feels the same about Elliott as Slot did and decides to move him on quickly.
There is a chance, though, that the England Under-21 star revives his career at the club that he has supported since he was a child, which would leave the Whites having to look elsewhere.
