Robin Koch Leeds United exit on the cards amid 'horrible' Elland Road saga - Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson believes Robin Koch would earn Leeds United good money after the German defender was linked with a move to Newcastle United.

According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, writing on Caught Offside’s Substack account (11 March), the Magpies are interested in the 26-year-old defender.

However, Robinson has suggested it’s a “horrible” time when it comes to transfer activity with there still being uncertainty over Leeds’ league status.

“I think he’s a player [Koch] who becomes a better player when he’s got a good player alongside him. I think the leadership qualities of others around him make him better,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“He could still play in the Premier League even if they did go down. They will get good money for him, but a lot of Leeds’ transfer activity is very much ifs and buts.

“It’s a horrible time in the season for anyone who is working at a football club working out the budgets because they have to do two budgets. They have to be realistic. There’s a chance Leeds could be in the Championship but there’s also a chance they could be in the Premier League.

“For anyone sorting out the future contracts and valuations, they have to work two schedules because everyone has a different valuation if the club is in the Championship.”

In other Leeds news, the club are set to finalise a first-team transfer this month with negotiations over a contract ongoing.
