Report: PL club plot move for Leeds star as scouting missions revealed

There is no arguing that Kalvin Phillips has become irreplaceable to Leeds United in the past couple of seasons.

The boyhood Whites fan is a rock at the base of midfield. Many would suggest that he was the signing of the summer when Leeds managed to secure him to a new five-year deal at Elland Road.

Teams such as Aston Villa, Sheffield United, and Tottenham were all interested. It is clear to see why as he continues to shine in the heart of midfield.

That interest hasn’t disappeared though. The Sun have reported on Sunday, that Manchester United have joined the hunt for the 23-year-old.

It is suggested that the Premier League club have completed a couple of scouting missions on Phillips. Assistant Manager, Mike Phelan even personally watched the Whites’ hero against Birmingham.

With the money that was on the table in the summer, £27million to be exact, Leeds would be right to demand more.

The 23-year-old has only just began his new deal, and another campaign starring in the Championship will only see his pricetag rise.

We simply cannot afford to lose Phillips this season, and he will be influential to any promotion hopes Leeds have.

The truth is though, the Yorkshire Pirlo will not be with us forever if we don’t achieve that goal. This season may be the last opportunity we have to secure a place in the Premier League and see Phillips take to the field in the top flight in a white shirt.
