Leeds United one to keep eye on as Juventus sanction ‘staggering’ Lois Openda deal

Leeds United are ready to sign Juventus striker Lois Openda in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Calciomercato.it on 19 April, the Whites have already enquired with the Serie A club about the possibility of getting the Belgium international in the summer.

The news outlet reports that the West Yorkshire outfit are one of the clubs to keep an eye on regarding a move for the 26-year-old forward, who the Italian side are considering loaning out with a buy option.

It’s been claimed that Openda’s loan move to Juventus will be made permanent for £35million, which is “staggering” given his lack of contribution under Luciano Spalletti in the current campaign.

Paraag Marathe will be expected to back Daniel Farke ahead of the 2026-27 season as the Peacocks have all but confirmed their Premier League survival, but it remains to be seen whether they can strike a deal for the Belgian attacker.

Leeds’ transfers this season

The West Yorkshire outfit will now surely be looking towards their recruitment plans for the summer and will undoubtedly have much clearer ideas on the players they should go for.

Openda seems like a realistic target at Elland Road, considering Juventus’ plans to get him off their books and fans in LS11 will certainly have an eye on his situation.

Lois Openda has Noah Okafor example at Elland Road

Noah Okafor moved to Leeds last summer and has played a pivotal role in their quest to avoid relegation this season, scoring seven Premier League goals.

The Switzerland international has also got himself back into his national team’s plans after a falling-out with the head coach left the attacker an outcast for several months.

Okafor made a big move to AC Milan in 2023 and failed to live up to expectations in Italy, but has now found his feet at Elland Road.

Openda made the switch to Juventus after impressing at RB Leipzig and he could also potentially kickstart his career if given the right opportunity by Farke at the West Yorkshire outfit.
