'Nowhere near' - Jamie O'Hara opens up on what Leeds 'need' to do in January

The one area that Leeds United have struggled in over the past two seasons is finding the back of the net.

In nearly every graph on expected goals and point totals, the Whites are miles ahead of the rest. That isn’t reality though, and Leeds currently sit second in the Championship after losing to Sheffield Wednesday 2-0.

Leeds missed a number of chances once again, and have Patrick Bamford as their only out-and-out striker at Elland Road – something which could come back to bite them.

Jamie O’Hara has recently commented on Leeds and pinpointed one area of their team that needs to improve for them to earn promotion this season.

“The Championship is all about putting a run together,” he said on talkSPORT.

“If you can be that team that is after Christmas and you’re flying and the confidence is there, I would definitely say it’s nowhere near (being Leeds).

“For me, they need to bring in a striker, Leeds, they need to spend now. Spend money now on a player who is going to get you into the Premier League, because when he’s in the Premier League he can still be a great player for you.”

With Leeds needing to pay a total of £11million to secure the signing of Che Adams on a loan-to-buy basis, they could seal their fate should they get it over the line.

The 23-year-old has been there and done it in the Championship, and would be the perfect addition to keep O’Hara quiet and fire the Whites to the Premier League.
