Leeds United received a huge boost on Tuesday, as record-signing Rodrigo returned to training at Thorp Arch.
The Spaniard missed the two heavy defeats against Leicester and Crystal Palace after testing positive for COVID-19 almost two weeks ago.
Rodrigo should be available for the game against Arsenal on Sunday after missing this international break with Spain to remain in West Yorkshire.
The 29-year-old posted the positive news on his Instagram story on Tuesday morning, and the image was simply captioned “work.”
Rodrigo will surely be raring to go and will have been devastated to miss out on two games after cementing his spot under Marcelo Bielsa.
Add to that the drama involving Pablo Hernandez, and Leeds have desperately missed the creative spark behind Patrick Bamford since he was forced out.
Rodrigo had his best game in a Leeds shirt against Villa before this blow, where he had four shots on goal, completed 93% of his passes and also made four recoveries according to WyScout.
Hernandez has also been spotted in recovery and training since his bust-up, so he could also return to the side against Arsenal as Bielsa nears full-strength.
Many Leeds fans have reacted to this major boost at Elland Road, with the majority claiming that Rodrigo has been a “massive miss.”
Based on this, it’s likely that nearly every single Whites fan would put the 29-year-old straight back into the starting XI against the Gunners.
