Leeds United want to sign Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney as Mikel Arteta stance emerges
Leeds United are one of several Premier League clubs who want to sign Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney this summer, according to 90min (8 March).
The Scotland international has lost his place in the Arsenal side this season to Oleksandr Zinchenko, and that has attracted the attention of several Premier League sides.
Those include Leeds United, who have had a left-back on their radar for several months and could look to add him to their ranks after he was described as “phenomenal” by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson in the past.
“Sources have told 90min that Tierney has at no point questioned his role within Arsenal’s squad, but his lack of minutes has piqued the attention of a number of other clubs.
“90min understands that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would love to keep Tierney in north London for the long-term, but the Spaniard recognises that a lack of regular first team football may become an issue for the 35-cap Scotland international.
“Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is a confirmed admirer of Tierney, having previously worked with him at Celtic, while Aston Villa, West Ham and Leeds are also believed to keeping tabs on his situation.”

Junior Firpo has showed his quality in recent games, but it would take a huge turn of fortunes for Leeds fans to be entirely convinced by him for next season.
Pascal Struijk and Max Wober are both capable of playing at left-back too but believe their best position is at centre-back, which would leave a huge gap for Tierney to be able to step in and fill at Elland Road.
Obviously Tierney has been playing Champions League and Europa League football for much of his career with Celtic and Arsenal, but Leeds would be able to offer him regular football in the Premier League and he would be a huge upgrade on our current options.
He’s fantastic going forward, has great pace and defensively is incredibly reliable whether it be as a unit or in one-on-one situations.
Considering the competition for his signature it would be a huge coup if Leeds were able to pull the deal off, but it’s great to see the club eyeing up bargains for players proven to be good enough at the highest level.
