Daniel Farke future in doubt as Leeds board take drastic action after Sunderland loss

Leeds United’s hierachy have taken the drastic decision to postpone contract talks with Daniel Farke.

Farke is set to enter the final year of his Leeds contract in June, but negotiations over a new deal have been put on hold, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report on 4 March claims that Elland Road chiefs are waiting to see whether he can keep the Whites in the Premier League after the 1-0 loss to Sunderland on 3 March.

It states that the German is keen to remain in LS11, and he was hoping to have held talks already over a renewal.

Why is Farke’s Leeds future in doubt again?

Farke’s future was in doubt in November, before a stunning run of form put the Peacocks in a great position to ensure survival.

That seemed to quell any talk of the sack, but it has now reemerged, with the Yorkshire side just six points above the drop zone.

The Whites have won just two of their last 13 league games, and that is why there is a delay on fresh talks over a new deal for the 49-year-old.
