Leeds United to make bid for RB Leipzig ace Tyler Adams today as Victor Orta puts foot on gas

Leeds United are set to make their first bid for RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams on Monday (04 July), according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on their website late on Sunday evening that the offer is set to come in the next 24 hours, meaning it could come before 8 pm.

Victor Orta is ready to put his foot on the gas for midfield reinforcements with Kalvin Phillips on the verge of joining Manchester City this week.

Leeds are locked in talks with Leipzig over the deal, which was initially targeted as a loan switch to Elland Road.

That looks to have changed with Everton also in the mix, with a permanent move now well and truly on the cards as Jesse Marsch looks to bring in another old companion.

It is said that talks are now locked in over a potential £12million switch, and the Whites hope to capitalise on a good relationship with Red Bull after negotiations with Salzburg this summer.

With the USA heading to the World Cup at the end of this year in Qatar, Adams is also said to be keen on a switch to show what he can do in the Premier League ahead of that.

Get it done.

This could prove to be yet another bargain.

Marc Roca arriving for around £10million from Bayern Munich was impressive, but Adams for just above that could be even better as Leeds really start to snip talent from the Bundesliga.

Having captained his country and regularly played in the Champions League or the Europa League, Adams brings excellent experience to Elland Road should he move.

Marsch will also welcome another player who knows his systems inside and out, hopefully meaning that he can start like a house on fire and make the adjustment to the Premier League look easy.

No one is going to directly replace Phillips in our hearts, but if the likes of Adams and Roca do the business on the pitch and start to dominate opponents, it won’t be long until they are the talk of the town.

With a bid set to go in later today, it would be no surprise if this one moved very quickly and was done before we jet off to Australia for pre-season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
