Leeds United to complete Rasmus Kristensen formalities for major transfer this week - Phil Hay

Leeds United will look to complete the major transfer to sign RB Salzburg defender Rasmus Kristensen this week, according to Phil Hay.

The Athletic journalist has reported that the Whites will look to complete the formalities of the deal while the right-back is on international duty with Denmark.

Kristensen has agreed a long-term contract at Elland Road and that will lead to Borussia Dortmund being beat in the race for the new transfer.

This is brilliant news.

Hay sharing the update could mean that Leeds will announce the deal before Friday hits with Victor Orta putting his foot down on the accelerator this week.

There were suggestions that the deal would wait until after this international break, but the Whites clearly don’t want any deal in place to be hijacked.

Here We Go.

Orta and Jesse Marsch are clearly on the same page with their transfer targets, and it appears as though that team is working wonders for Leeds this summer.

Marcelo Bielsa was stubborn with his targets, and not to blame him, but that may have led to big difficulties in the transfer window – with moves never this quick under the South American.

That isn’t to say he was the issue completely, but he certainly played a part in that and now the squad depth is finally being addressed at Elland Road.

With just the formalities left to complete, the announcement will be imminent and we can celebrate yet another new face through the doors.

Kristensen will be guaranteed to start under his former boss too, and has already admitted that Leeds are a “huge” club – something that will accelerate his goal to become a fan favourite.

This one looks as good as done – here we go.
