Jamie Carragher rages at response to what he said about Leeds: ‘You haven’t got a clue’
Jamie Carragher has hit back at criticism over his analysis of Leeds’ 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.
Ao Tanaka’s 96th-minute strike earned Leeds a valuable point at Elland Road, while also easing the pressure that was mounting on manager Daniel Farke.
Before a run of fixtures that saw Leeds take on Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, Tim Sherwood said that Farke was “100 per cent” going to be sacked before the end of 2025.
However, Leeds picked up four points in those games, moving themselves out of the Premier League’s relegation zone, meaning that 49ers Enterprises are far more likely to let the German stay in charge at Elland Road.

Jamie Carragher
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football this week, Carragher analysed Liverpool’s defending and was especially critical of Ibrahima Konate’s positioning.
The Reds defender was all over the shop when Anton Stach scored Leeds’ second goal of the night, but Carragher noticed that in another incident, in the build-up to Leeds winning a corner kick, he also read the game badly.
That led to an X account called King Knight Education, an apparent expert in football coaching, saying that Carragher was simply talking for the sake of it when examining Konate’s poor defending.
After seeing the post, the former Liverpool defender was less than pleased, blasting back at the account and sharing how his experience as a player and analyst helped him come to his conclusion.
“You haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about,” said Carragher on X on Thursday morning. “You really think I hadn’t looked at the clip all day?
“I’ve been in that position a million times as a player, which gives me a better understanding than you’ll ever have.“
Leeds’ festive period examined
With Christmas now just two weeks away, we’re entering one of the most exciting parts of the season.
Although Leeds won’t be playing on Boxing Day this year, there’ll be a lot of anticipation to see whether or not Farke can follow up his side’s cracking form against teams who are more likely to be around them come the end of the campaign.
Leeds face Keith Andrews’ Brentford this weekend, a team that’s started to slide down the Premier League standings and are just four points ahead of the 16th-placed Yorkshire club in 14th.
They then welcome Crystal Palace to Elland Road in their final home game of 2025 on 20 December, before finishing off the calendar year with a trip to Sunderland on 28 December.
Leeds then have another tough trio of matches, starting with an away day at Liverpool on New Year’s Day, followed by playing rivals Manchester United on 4 January at Elland Road and Newcastle at St James’ Park on 7 January.
