Leeds United ready to raid David Beckham and Gary Neville for Salford transfer agreement

Leeds United are always looking at ways to strengthen their academy at Thorp Arch.

Archie Gray is the latest success story at Elland Road, with Leeds banking £40million from his sale to Tottenham last season.

That story has continued with Daniel Farke using Harry Gray sparingly, with Manchester City also said to be keen on the young striker.

Leeds look set to be busy in January, regardless of PSR, and their academy could also benefit from new arrivals in the next four weeks.

Leeds look at Archie Oldham transfer

According to the Daily Mail on Sunday, Leeds are looking at Salford under-16 sensation Archie Oldham.

The newspaper reports in its print edition that the young central defender could switch Lancashire for Yorkshire in the coming weeks.

It would take Leeds negotiating with David Beckham and Gary Neville, who won’t be their biggest fans.

Beckham and Neville completed their full takeover of Salford back in May, alongside two other businessmen, with the other ‘Class of 92’ members losing their shareholdings.

Gary Neville negotiations to start quickly at Leeds

In what could be ironic, Manchester United are the visitors to Elland Road on Sunday.

Neville won’t be working on Sky Sports for the game, with it being shown live on TNT, but he could be around LS11 for the fixture.

Transfers don’t stop for anyone, and Adam Underwood could be in the perfect spot to start negotiations over Oldham in the coming hours.

Leeds academy signings this season

Leeds have been busy with their academy this season.

Jayden Lienou signed from Manchester City, with the left-back impressing after filling a much-needed role below the senior ranks.

Louis Enahoro-Marcus was another defender to join from Liverpool, who could be raided again soon.

With most eyes on the senior squad and transfers there, Leeds are also closing in on the signing of attacker Kai Morrall, also from Anfield.

The Whites are always looking for the next best talent for Thorp Arch, and it looks as though Oldham could be next from Salford.
