'Absolutely massive' - Seaman opens on the 'huge' thing Leeds could bring to the PL
David Seaman has claimed that the Premier League has massively missed Leeds United during their near two-decade absence.
The Whites fan and former Arsenal star has won the top-flight on numerous occasions and was at Elland Road as an apprentice.
Leeds were relegated back in 2004, and are nine games away from promotion once the Coronavirus break comes to an end.
Seaman was blown away by the support from his time at the club, and claimed that the Premier League has missed that level of noise from West Yorkshire.
"The Premier League has missed Leeds massively, because of the support," he told Leeds Live.
"I never forget when I was there as an apprentice. Matchday was just absolutely massive for the city. All the phone-ins in the mornings, it probably still does on there now, but when we were in the Premier League, or the top division then, it was just huge."
Marcelo Bielsa is already lauded as a god in-and-around Leeds for what he has achieved already, but that would go to the next level should Premier League football be brought back next season.
Seaman is spot on with his claim when you compare Leeds' attendance records including this season's top-flight. Leeds would be 11th, averaging 35,321 at every single home games at Elland Road [Transfermarkt].
That is more than the likes of Wolves, Leicester City and Sheffield United who have all been impressing this season - a crowd that Leeds would fit into nicely next season if they earn that chance.
