Leeds United relegation chances shift in supercomputer prediction as all eyes on West Ham
Leeds United’s chances of being relegated from the Premier League have shifted following Tuesday’s defeat to Sunderland.
Leeds were on the end of a 1-0 loss to Sunderland at Elland Road through Habib Diarra’s second-half penalty, awarded for handball against Ethan Ampadu.
Daniel Farke’s side were on the end of some questionable refereeing decisions, the biggest of the lot not being that handball but a pen not awarded to Pascal Struijk in the first half.
While not too much damage has been done looking at the table, with Leeds still 15th and six points above the relegation zone, the picture could change entirely come Wednesday evening.

West Ham can seriously increase the pressure on Leeds
Leeds have not been realistic relegation contenders for a number of months now, largely thanks to their own turnaround in form under Farke.
West Ham have shown signs of recovery without truly being able to bridge the gap on most of the teams above them.
However, the Hammers have a winnable game away at Fulham on Wednesday. Win that and they could climb above Nottingham Forest, who are away at Manchester City.
More importantly from a Leeds perspective, West Ham would be just three points behind if they win at Craven Cottage.
And as per Opta’s latest supercomputer update on Wednesday morning, ahead of those other fixtures, Leeds now have a 4.22 per cent chance of going down.
Those are still very favourable odds at this point. For context, West Ham have a 68.18 per cent chance of going down and Forest a 23.59 per cent likelihood.

However, it will be interesting to see how those percentages look come 10pm on Wednesday if results go against Leeds.
Sunderland loss marks season first for Leeds
The Sunderland match was as scrappy as they come, with very little between the two sides. In the end, it was decided by a penalty kick.
Leeds were worthy of at least a point, which would have kept things ticking along nicely. Instead, they are now relying on Fulham to do them a favour to ensure things do not get too tense.
It is the first time all season – and since April 2023 – that Leeds have suffered back-to-back home losses in the Premier League.
This comes on the back of losing 1-0 to Manchester City at the weekend, so it is now imperative the Whites bounce back against Crystal Palace on their return to league action on 15 March.
