Leeds United news: Raphinha saga to hit final stage with key days now ahead
Leeds United winger Raphinha has been very forceful with his decision that he wants to join Barcelona over Chelsea, according to Juan Luis Medina.
The 90min journalist has reported that “key days” are now ahead with a final verdict following those as the blockbuster transfer saga could finally come to an end this week.
Barcelona were said to have agreed a fee last week for the deal, but that has now gone quiet ahead of Leeds jetting out to Australia for their pre-season tour this weekend.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Medina shared that the saga is finally looking as though it could come to end in a matter of days, rather than weeks.
“Leeds, despite having a better offer from Chelsea, the word of Raphinha is forceful and it is that they want Barça above all the proposals they have,” he wrote.
“Key days ahead of a final verdict.”
Get it done.
So, Raphinha is putting his foot down and finally making his mind up.
Chelsea’s offer was always seen as a back-up option, but now he must have knowledge that Barcelona can afford the deal as he looks to force his way out of the club.
The Brazilian has stayed quiet during the summer and it has been widely reported that he has not been disrespectful one little bit ahead of an exit that everyone is ready for.
If it is Barcelona, at least we will never have to see him torment us in the Premier League shining for another club in a highlights package each weekend.
But, the Spaniards have to reach an agreement with Leeds and not only that, the right payment plan that doesn’t rip the Whites off in this transfer window.
Luis Sinisterra is already said to be on his way in as a replacement for the Brazilian, but this next lot of money coming in will fund a move for a striker.
This has to be right.
