Leeds United have only accepted Chelsea bid for Raphinha as Barcelona deal emerges in past 24 hours

Fabrizio Romano has shared that Leeds United are insisting they have only accepted one bid for Raphinha so far, and that is from Chelsea.

It comes after reports broke on Friday night [01 July] that Barcelona had agreed to pay the £60million asking price at Elland Road, and a deal was now agreed with an instalment plan in place [90 min].

Romano has shared that Barcelona do have a £51.7million package on the table, but that is yet to be accepted or taken forward at Elland Road.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Romano shared what Leeds have said about the future of their star man as the saga continues to drag out this week.

“Raphinha, hoping for Barcelona move with 5-year deal ready since March – no final answer sent to Chelsea yet, waiting for Barça,” he wrote.

“Barcelona bid last Thursday: €50m plus €10m add-ons [£51.7m in total], paid in instalments.

“Leeds insist they only accepted Chelsea bid for £60m, as of now.”

Saga.

This is getting ridiculous now.

Either Leeds need to hand Barcelona the firmest no they can and tell them that they either pay up or move on, or they simply accept this latest package deal and get it over with.

If they don’t want that, then it is down to Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear to come down hard on Deco, tell him to stop messing around and that if Raphinha wants to leave so badly, it will be to Chelsea who have coughed up the cash.

Leeds are slowly crumbling in these negotiations based on reports from Spain, and that cannot be allowed to happen between now and the start of September.

Raphinha and other internationals are due back at Thorp Arch on Monday, so something will need to move very quickly in the next 24 hours to get a deal over the line to not see that happen.

The Whites have not yet accepted a bid from Barcelona as things stand, but there is no smoke without fire, and it looks as though a deal will soon be in place for that move to the Nou Camp.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
