Ian Holloway claims Leeds clash v Cardiff could have started 'rumblings'

We all thought that Marcelo Bielsa had rewritten the script in West Yorkshire, but in true Leeds United fashion, the Whites threw away three points against Cardiff City on Saturday.

Three goals to the good and cruising. When Robert Glatzel found the back of the net to equalise, Elland Road was shocked.

What followed was the usual fan meltdown, with people looking for players to blame. Once the dust has settled, people will look back and see that Bielsa’s men still hold a 10-point gap to third-placed Preston.

One person who was quick to comment on the draw was Ian Holloway, who was still full of praise for Leeds despite the result.

The Quest pundit claimed that the Whites were still the real deal in the Championship, as they dominated yet another side but without reward.

“They will all feel very upset because you’re 3-0 up half-way through the second half you think you’re going to win,” he said on Quest, via Birmingham Live.

“Let me tell you, if they had lost that game, that would have started some rumblings but they didn’t and I think they are the real deal.”

Holloway will know exactly how the Leeds squad is feeling right now after that result, and the reality is that we are still 11 games unbeaten and have a large gap to the playoffs.

The most important part is how Leeds react. A massive game at Fulham is coming up next, and three points at Craven Cottage would quickly put Saturday’s draw against Cardiff way back in the memory.

Leeds must remember that feeling though at full time, and use it as motivation to push on and make sure it never happens again this season.
