'FIFA are sleeping' - European manager claims Marcelo Bielsa in middle of 'Scandal'

Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa being nominated for the FIFA Best Coach award is a scandal.

El Loco has been selected alongside Hans Dieter-Flick, Jurgen Klopp, Zinedine Zidane and Julen Lopetegui for his achievements in 2020.

Bielsa guided the Whites back to the Premier League after 16 years away, although many have criticised the decision to nominate him for the award.

Villas-Boas claimed that FIFA are “sleeping” and that Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel should have been nominated instead.

“That PSG boss Thomas Tuchel isn’t in the top five coaches is a scandal,” he said via Football Critic.

“FIFA are sleeping. Bielsa? He has to win a prestigious title. But he’s not in the top five coaches in the world in 2020. It’s a scandal. He won the championship.

“Tuchel won four trophies plus reached the final of the Champions League.”

If there is one thing we all love, it is when something to do with Leeds gets other clubs and representatives angry – it isn’t that serious.

The chances of Bielsa winning the award are low, but imagine the scenes if the South American actually did – it would be crazy to see the reactions.

Villas-Boas may have a point, but Zidane has achieved better before and was still nominated. Leeds have a global reach, and them being dragged back into the spotlight is an achievement that should be celebrated.

The Portuguese boss has more problems of his own to worry about, like Marseille breaking the record for most consecutive defeats in the Champions League.

We’ll concentrate on our own problems, and so should he.
