Daniel Farke has attacker who’s better than Dominic Calvert-Lewin right under his nose
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the talisman for Leeds United this season since cementing a place in the starting lineup.
Calvert-Lewin joined Leeds as a free agent last summer, after failing to agree a new contract with Everton.
The former England international had a slow start to life at Elland Road, but discovered some exceptional form at the start of December, scoring in six consecutive Premier League games.
He has now already hit double figures in terms of league goals for the season, scoring 10 in total this term, but one Whites attacker has an even more impressive record.
Lukas Nmecha proves his worth for Leeds
Like Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha joined Leeds on a free transfer last summer, following his departure from German side Wolfsburg.
The 27-year-old has had a stop-start campaign so far, missing chunks of the season through injury.
However, the forward recovered from his latest issue to make the bench against Nottingham Forest last Friday and was handed a start against Chelsea.
Calvert-Lewin was out with illness, but Nmecha stepped up in his absence, grabbing a goal and an assist as Leeds came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Liam Rosenior’s side at Stamford Bridge.
It means that Nmecha now has eight goal contributions for the Whites this season, from just 838 minutes of football.

The German grabs a goal or an assist every 104.75 minutes across all competitions, which is even a better record than Calvert-Lewin, who has only managed one every 154.8 minutes.
How do Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin compare?
Calvert-Lewin has four more goals than Nmecha across all competitions this season, but it is once again the German who comes out on top when you take minutes into account.
He finds the back of the net, on average, every 140 minutes, while Calvert-Lewin only scores once every 170 minutes.

It doesn’t mean that Nmecha has been more important for Leeds this season, and Calvert-Lewin has arguably still had more impact on Farke’s side.
However, the Whites boss must surely consider starting the pair together in the coming months, in order to help the West Yorkshire outfit away from the Premier League relegation zone.
