'Dropped a bit' - Bilic comments on Leeds ahead of upcoming West Brom clash

It was a crazy Sunday in the Championship. Leeds United took back top spot as they won 5-4 at Birmingham whilst West Brom fell to a 2-0 defeat.

That defeat was only the Baggies’ second of the season, the first coming against the Whites. Those results guaranteed that Leeds have finished the last four decades top of their table.

Next up is a top of the table clash against each other at the Hawthorns. Leeds could have hit the game at the perfect time, with West Brom fragile and them firing on all cylinders – something Slaven Bilic disagrees with.

Bilic has commented on the upcoming clash, claiming that it is one of the most difficult games in the Championship despite Leeds conceding as many as they have scored recently.

“It’s a great thing to have a game in a few days, to make up for what was lacking today,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“We are expecting a difficult game, this is the difficult game. They’re scoring and conceding goals, they’ve conceded four today.

“We have to concentrate on ourselves and get back what we’ve been, up until very recently. We dropped a bit, and as I said – we have to get up. We have a great opportunity in a few days’ time.”

Marcelo Bielsa will certainly be concerned with Leeds’ recent defensive record, but will just want to earn three points from each game that passes.

The South American is a perfectionist and will not accept the fragility after such a strong start. However, given the importance of the game against West Brom, Leeds could take a real grip on top spot, and Bielsa will just want three points no matter what.
